Funny how a glowing report comes out less than 2 months from a mid term election? Probably just a cowinkydink!

Isn't the report that the jobs gains were lower this month?

If Carter gets one paragraph in the history books, then Reagan maybe gets two. Simply being around when something important occurred doesn't make it the result of your actions. Just as Truman shouldn't be criticized for "losing" China, neither should Reagan get plaudits for ending communism in the Eastern bloc. People behind the Iron Curtain were just fed up with the system, given a glimmer of hope by the mechanisms that had previously given none and exploited that hole to crash the system down.

About the same. While I like Bubba, what significance will he rate to American history overall? Mount Rushmore is pretty safe for awhile.

Ike And Coolidge at the top for the last century for me

Woodrow Wilson, Hoover/FDR, and LBJ at the bottom for the last century.

I do like FDR. I admit he did some shady stuff with the Supreme Court stacking, but the guy was handed a shit sammich and I think he did ok with that. I like Social Security, Unemployment Insurance and his WORKfare program. He takes the blame for the modern Welfare system which is dead wrong. I have no issue with folks working for their assistance. Plus, I think he did ok with WWII also. What other President had to handle the worst economic AND military crisis (you could say it's the Civil War, too) in their country's history? I also admire that he did that from a wheelchair in that era.

I hate Wilson, Hoover and LBJ.

I like FDR during the war time years, but besides that he took Hoovers programs and expanded on them. Which lead to the depression running longer and deeper. SS is great in theory but just doesn't work at our scale.

he made the great depression worse, not better. social security is the worst program ever invented and will bankrupt this country. man was a communist and not even a very good one.
