The DL will be better, but that's not hard to do and it won't be much better until all those freshmen get year under their belt. There will be a pass rush off the ends in Maggit and Vereen. The DT spot will be extremely young but athletic. There will at least be hope that the young guys, which were highly recruited guys other teams actually wanted, get better in 2015.
Maggit and Vereen I wouldn't think would be on the field simultaneously a whole lot. Not sure who the other DE would be. We are also probably looking for a freshman DT to start. If we count Maggitt as a DE, I think that calls into question the LB group, because we'll be counting on freshmen two outperform the to outgoing seniors (not that they were superb).
Its a must that we find a NT that can create a stalemate on a double-team. I don't know if we have one but if we do I believe it's Sawyers, who had no trouble obliterating every matchup against some very physical competition in high school.
Outside of a few select Wilcox defensive packages, I don't believe Maggitt has lined up at anything but the SAM in the 43. He took on blockers there like he will at the SDE. By the time Utah St. rolls around he will be more than adequate for the SDE at 6'5 260lbs.
A team that lost a kicker/punter who performed at an All American level is going to be better on special teams? Sure thing.
Jakob Johnson is a DE now too, and he could end up being extremely good. He's still learning how to play football, but he loves to knock the shit out of people, so that's a plus.
