Out of all the bullshit and complications I dealt with after my first surgery, I’m pretty sure the worst thing was when I had to have a colonoscopy to have my colon stented due to a stricture. This happened about midway through an 8 day hospital stay.

I was already completely exhausted and in a lot of pain, and of course hooked up to multiple IVs. Had to drink all the prep stuff (like 4 liters I think it was, because it was different than the one I do at home) and of course get up and go to the bathroom a couple dozen times, and I had to do all this without the good pain medicine.

I say all this because you would think after that experience it would make the preps for other colonoscopies a little easier to deal with, especially since I didn’t have to fiddle with the IV pumps and drag the setup with me to the bathroom.

Nah it absolutely sucks every time, and I’m about to have my now-yearly one in a couple weeks.

    Hope yours went well.

Damn dude you’ve been thru it. No concerns from mine thank goodness. I’ve had some pain but we are thinking stress has played a major part. Had some polyps removed. Prep def sucks. Ended up standing in the shower taking care of business a couple times because you can’t sit down for 30 seconds at one point.
Best part is they told me they were giving me oxygen, then I was laying there and asked the nurse when they were going to get started and nurse told me we were already done. Had no idea I went out

Given my age, I've been through 5 (or 6?). I think I have had a different type of prep every time. I think it depends on which Pharma is kicking back the most. But I've hated every type.

You are right though. You go through all that stuff and it takes them 5 minutes.

Prep is a monster, but the actual procedure and restful feeling after is great.

Also, I would suggest going with Suprep (or equivalent) versus Golytely. Even if you have to pay more out of pocket. It's worth it.

    whats the difference?

Significantly less drinking of solution involved. The Suprep is 2 6oz doses taken with 10 oz water each time. And then you drink another 16 of of water over the next hour after each dose. The others you have to drink a lot more, I believe. Up to 4 liters.

Yeah that’s a big difference. Believe I had 18 8ounce cups of prep fluid. 9 over 2 hours day prior and another 9 over 2 hours at 4 AM.

I dont really have a clue re: names. We have had pills to liquids. I will say I think this last time, I had the one where we took the 2 doses and then drank alot of water.

I remember I had to get up way too early for an old man to take the 2nd dose so many hours before I went in for the procedure.

The wife and I [itch bay] to each other about all of them. They all are not fun.

I was really hoping they were playing at City’s ground so I could make an Empythad joke about experiencing their first ever sellout, but alas, they are playing Heaton Park.

to be fair, most Man City fans aren't old enough to travel without their parents.

If that kept players from playing, Auburn would have folded the program decades ago.

We’re trapped in a [pretty gosh danged dumb] death spiral. The quarterback is good/fine minus the turnovers and we don’t have a younger QB good enough to sell as the future, so we trudge on with Simple Jack.
