12 regular season games
1 conference title game (most likely for most involved)
3 playoff games
--
16 games.

The SEC has played plenty of solid out of conference games. Just because every single team doesn't put a top 10 out of conference team on their schedule doesn't mean the conference as a whole doesn't play the tough OOC schedule.

Anyone remember when the Big 10 was being considered out of the playoff race after like week 3 of the season? Now people talk about them like they are better than the SEC as a whole. It's stupid to forget everything that happened all season and just look at bowls.

That wouldn't be the game in the plus one. You seed them as you did and the title game would be exactly what it is. Pretty sure Oregon was 3. That means they would have played FSU. It all works the same. There hasn't been a single year in my life that a plus one wouldn't have killed any debate, and many years the extra game would have been superfluous. The playoff is for money whore administrators and people who want college football to be nothing but NFL Lite.
