I'm not exactly sure what you'd call K-State's offense, but they've had some success zigging while others zag. At a school like Kansas, you have to do something different because you're not brining in top tier talent no matter how hard you recruit.

 

Work those Kansas JUCOS for 5 or 6 instant contributors each year, pull a few scraps from the bayou, grab a couple of out of Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri.

It’s not a recipe for a national championship, but he can get them competitive.

 

Then throw in some Mad Hatter action and BOOM, 11-1.

 

I'm not sure being a national title contender in the goal there. I'm just saying that in a spread league, a power football team can have some success.

That is correct. That division is pretty weak.
