    Looking like Norvell to FSU.

Washington won at Nebraska in 91, no small feat at the time.

But, it had to be a down year for college football because Cal was ranked #7 when they played them.

And I believe that 91 team got them put on probation too.

Sounding very likely. Thought they might announce today but not sure now.

Apparently they’re not announcing until the weekend. That pretty much guarantees that it’s Norvell.

Good point. I thought they would announce right away to keep Ole Piss away but it sounds like the deal is done so they are just waiting until after his league championship game.

Goodness a loss to Leach or Kiffin would send this place to places. Would be worse than Gst.

Serious question: Can someone tell me why OSU is ranked higher than LSU, please?

Because the system does not account for SOS even a little for undefeated teams, but rather "opinions." And "opinions" in sports are driven by media markets and shares. And more people graduated from Ohio State than from LSU.

    That's my working hypothesis.

LSU is penalized for their illegal cleat length. Ohio State is always honest with their cleats.

So far as I know, it is a committee. Just people in a room. So if they are comparing undefeated teams, they aren't breaking out the statistics or the SOS. They're just eyeballing it, and eyeballs lie.

I’d love to know how many total quarters of football of the top 10 teams they’ve even watched.

I think you might be overly generous with “eyeballing”.

Strength of record and strength of schedule are pretty even. Ohio State has looked like the more complete team. LSU’s defense has been putrid for a large part of the season.

They absolutely look at stats. They look at everything from strength of Schedule, strength of record, game control, offensive and defensive efficiency rankings.
