I'm surprised a small conference hasn't stepped in and tried to put a super conference together. This might be the opportunity. Mountain West could be a good one to pick up these Big 12 misfits, and try to leverage that into it being a P5.

 

They will probably try. AAC probably has the best bones to try and make a run at it.

 

WAC tried 16 teams a while back but it failed miserably.

I could see the AAC making a push to expand out of this.

Depending on what the pac 12 does, there could be some decent options left from the big 12. Kansas, Iowa State and the three Texas schools would help the profile.

 

I hope texas realizes that they will never dictate terms in the sec. scratch that, I don't care if they realize.

 

Yeah, I think they would, but this is Texas so who knows.

Gotta keep the sec championship game in Atlanta. Don't give Texas anything out if the deal

They notified the Big 12 this morning.

Saw somewhere the plan is to have them in conference by 22 season.

no chance they wait until 2025. the sec will just pay the big 12 off.

 

They're about to have lean times, so they better take the money I guess.

 

i saw an article that estimated 50% of their revenues come from oklahoma and texas.

 

Fun fact of the day: Tennessee Women's rowing is in the Big 12. So is Alabama.

 

The AAC is a couple decent teams away from making a push to become a power conference.
