you still need demand. if people are selling their houses (i.e. increasing supply significantly) and moving out of state in mass in one region of california you'd see an effect on the housing prices.

 

No. I mean I’d rather not live in the shit hole that is California in general, especially LA, just because the weather is nice.

 

i'm sure the 3 days you once spent in LA gives you enough frame of reference to make that decision.

it's not new york city. it's really a bunch of small towns together with their own character and their own downtowns. that's why it's impossible to make accurate sweeping statements about LA.

I just did a google maps of LA. Houses are packed in like sardines. I live on 4 acres, not sure I could do that in LA. In fact, I know I couldn't do that in LA or anywhere near LA. And I like the fall and winter, so that is out, too.

10 miles from me there are tons of 4 acre lots. my buddy has sheep, goats, etc and lives on 5 acres and he's not elon musk. 15 miles east of downtown the same. there are also small towns not too far from here. something for everyone.
