Nah, but it’s pretty funny though because Chelsea fans haven’t been this poor since they were founded 14 years ago, and they’re mad. He probably goes once they get bounced by Barca.
And Conte will get another job at a top club at the first opportunity. Chelsea can't keep a manager for more than three years
That was fantastic. I love that he calls out youth coaches because what he says is so true. They are incredibly arrogant and, yet, stupid, at the same time.
"It has nothing to do with athleticism or size — attributes that the scouts and coaches in U.S. Soccer seem obsessed with sometimes. I remember the first time I trained with Bojan Krkić at Stoke. He’s listed at like 5′ 7″, but he looked more like 4′ 10″. And the guy was just an absolute animal out there. He’d made it through the Barcelona system at that size. I remember thinking to myself, What would’ve happened if he had come up in U.S. Soccer?" This one paragraph stood out to me more than any other one. And the rest of the article is scathing and spot on.
I wasn’t a great player by any means, but I could have helped the team, on the field, in high school. But I mostly road the bench because my dad and my coach had beef about playing time when my coach was my u10 AYSO coach.
Maybe Nashville SC will get me into soccer. I’ve tried. They only time I really watch is the world cup
Following up - we've signed up 75-80 more kids for Little League this year than last year. No idea of a correlation or how local AYSO and parks and rec soccer has done, but interesting nonetheless.
Good to see Sane back in the lineup for some mop-up duty for City. Should be able to rest some players in the second leg against Basel.
