It’s part of playing defense. Now, maybe it’s excessive if you’ve got to go to video to see a toenail off. But playing a forward offside is 1,000% part of playing defense
I get it. I just dont like it. And not sure that was a planned trap. Looks like bailing out bad D to me. Plus you leave a free runner in hopes for a call.
Dom Dwyer was the worst at it I ever saw for an American player. Dude was offsides 60% of plays. Wonder why he isn't called up anymore...
If you don’t like the USA playing attackers offside then convince Jill Ellis to start Shkodran Mustafi.
I was thinking more like #22 was about to have a ball thrown over his head again, so he takes a step forward and the 65 yard td pass is nullified. Offsides on the wr before QB releases.
honestly, being onside isn't difficult, it's just part of the game. you time it right and running a trap backfires for any easy goal. now, using video is kinda over the top and I think they should be consistent with how one needs to completely clear lines.
They should give them a 1 yard leeway and open up the game a little. Lets see more runs and hard defense. More hard fouls and fancy finishes.
Then you get guys offside by 1yard and a toe and then we give them two yards leeway ad infinitum. Rule is fine but really needs to be fine tuned for VR world.
