Appatently people now take offense if you tell a guy to be sure to break up a double play in a one run game in the last inning now. Next time we play them and i pitch im going to ask them not to hit middle, even though its part of the game.
As long as you don't go in cleats high, there's nothing at all wrong with that. As you said, it's part of the game. If their SS or 2nd baseman don't know how to turn a double play while protecting themselves, maybe they shouldn't be in those positions. If I'm at short and you don't slide or pull up out of the baseline, you're getting hit with my throw right between the eyes. By rule, I can still be awarded a double play due to interference. Bet the next person gets down or out of the way on a double play attempt. The world has become pussified.
It took every bit of restraint i had not to tell the ss griping he didnt want to spend 1200 on another knee surgery that maybe he should take up a new hobby.
