Try Del Rio on for size sometime. They should set the next season of True Detective there.

2009 when I-40 was knocked out, Gamecock Club sent out an email giving alternate directions that diverted around the landslide through Newport. The email specifically said to lock your doors when you got to Newport.

Did some Wikipediaing and looks like the cops have been busted for running auto theft rings at least twice.

Del Rio and Grassy Fork are two places in Cocke Co where you watch where you walk or you get shot.

I know some people that would be proud to have their city on that list.

Absolutely. Most of the Plateau is about as redneck as you can get.

I learned two things reading this.
    1. Pulaski is a little smaller than I thought.
    2. The writer never considered Savannah.

That list was not even close. Go to Woodbury in Cannon County. Like walking back in time 25 years.

All up and down the Mississippi river, there are towns that time forgot.

I built a Subway restaurant and a remodeled a bank in Woodbury. There is a Sonic, McDonald's, a mexican joint, a "steakhouse" that serves hamburger steak as their big meal and a Subway. I think there's as many restaurants as there are people.

Exactly. My dad is from Frog Jump and there isn't anyone or anything but redneck in that joint.

I will raise you saltillo. Some friends and I still have a discussion whether or not we inadvertently stumbled upon klan really there one night.

Houston county is like that, too. Once you go outside of Tennessee Ridge, it's water and shacks.

In all my trips to Hardin county, I've never made it across the river to Saltillo. My father in law owns a couple of lots a little down river on the other side. He grew up around there in Cerro Gordo, I think it is.

Was Tracy City or Pelham on there? Pretty sure they still have black and white water fountains down there.
