As a Trek fan from waaay back, I never noticed this. That is amazing! I can see Floyd walking out in that scene: "Oh, OHhhh, Kirk. She needs to die."
Curious piece of Tenny D trivia: for as much as I love TAGS, I never watch episodes beyond the 5th season, the last in black and white, and with Don Knotts. I may have seen 2-3 color episodes, total, and have no desire to see have seen even those. True story.
The Darlin's were an actual bluegrass / folk group, and whose actual name was "The Dillards". While they have lost some members, they still perform:
Barring the rarest exception, or a major mid-week holiday, Otis never locked himself up outside of Friday and Saturday nights. Geez NA, you act like the guy was a drunk or something?!
Speaking of the color episodes. Remember Warren, played by Jack Burns, as Barney's replacement? Guess how many episodes he was actually in? Only 11, before being fired for the show. What did he do before being cast as Warren in TAGS? He was one half of a comedic duo, "Burns and Carlin". Who was the other half of it? George Carlin. Yes, that George Carlin. Younger days:
Many people overlook the educational value. We used the episode where Andy sells the town cannon to demonstrate the ethics rules in negotiations in law school. Opie was selling licorice seeds.
I think my favorite episode (of those I have seen) is when Barney had to put on weight and grow taller to pass the new state law enforcement requirements. "Hey you kids! Never seen a man hanging by his neck in a closet before?!" (or some such phrasing)
I can't really name a favorite, but the ones I remember are when Barney had the motorcycle and was terrorizing the town, and Andy convinced him to donate it to a museum because Teddy Roosevelt rode it up San Juan Hill; and then the one where Andy foiled the older lady who was wandering around the department store stealing stuff; also the Barney in the choir one
There are several great episodes. When Barney buys the car and the thing comes out of the center of the steering wheel is a great moment.
