I'm with you.

 

IHOP service is awful. Hour and a half to eat a meal that should take ninety seconds to prepare.

 

I mean, if WH was internationally recognized as the place for waffles, maybe.

 

Maybe it's you.

 

Waffles are better than pancakes, but Waffle House has some pretty bad waffles.

 

I see your point. I suppose there isn't a true waffle equivalent. Places like Gladys Knight's Chicken and Waffles have to be cutting into the waffle share.

 

Part of the experience of IHOP is the service roulette, though. It's part of its charm.

 

I'd take Waffle House over Huddle House. And even Cracker Barrel. But Cracker Barrel over Shoneys.

 

I haven't been to an IHOP since I lived in Memphis. There was no roulette there. Always bad service. Arcade or Blue Plate are where it's at in that city.

 

If we're on food in a Fulmer thread, may as well delve into donuts.

Krispy Kreme over Dunkin, but the margin is narrow.

 

I agree with your ranking, but everything after Waffle House sucks.

 

Which means you probably went to the one on Union. I guess I have a different expectation of service from a place like IHOP. I mean, it's IHOP.

Aracde isn't special, and Blue Plate isn't worth the drive. Brother Juniper is where you go if you don't mind the wait.

 

Donut Hole on 98 on the way to work was real solid when I worked a summer in Florida.

I've got an affinity for all low scale joints. I worked in a restaurant for 6-7 years so I hit all of the spots. Denny's, Perkins, Huddle House, Waffle House, Krystal, Taco Bell; if it was open when I left work, I went.

 

However that oreo cream pie with soft serve is one of the biggest reasons why I'm a fatty today

 

Oh hell yeah, that's why I love Cookout, City Cafe, and Steak and Shake.

 

I hate glazed donuts. Fight me.

 

Weren't around when I was out late, but I'd have included them.
