You still haven't answered my question, Kingsport. Define intelligence.

    England, Connecticut, or Tennessee?

I would probably define it as a sort of mental agility. The ease with which one can think through and understand something and then applying it and applying it well would require higher degrees of intelligence.

What does "applying it well" mean? To one's reproductive advantage (which is after all, the essence of life)?

From a Viking to an Indian, am I intelligent?

Heard this song once when I was 5 years old. Behold!

Down on the corner, by the traffic light,
everybody's lookin', as she goes by,
they turn their heads and they, watch her till she's gone.

Lord have mercy, Baby's got her blue jeans on!

Up by the bus stop, and across the street,
open up their windows, to take a peek,
while she goes walking, rockin' like a rollin' stone.

Heaven help us, baby's got her blue jeans on!

    [CHORUS]
She can't help it if she's made that way,
she's not to blame if they look her way,
she ain't really tryin' to cause a scene,
it just comes naturally, nah , the girl can't help it.

Well up on main street, by the taxi stand,
there's a crowd of people, and a traffic jam,
she don't look back, she ain't doin' nothing' wrong,

Lord have mercy, baby's got her blue jeans on!

She can't help it if she's made that way,
she's not to blame if they look her way,
she ain't really tryin' to cause a scene,
it just comes naturally, aw, the girl can't help it.

Down on the corner, by the traffic light,
everybody's lookin', as she goes by,
they turn their heads and they, watch her till she's gone.

Lord have mercy, Baby's got her blue jeans on!
Heaven help us, baby's got her blue jeans on!

The degree to which you can understand something and the success with which you can apply it are both factors. For instance, I'm sure Dooley understands a lot of Nick Saban's principles. That said, would I classify Dooley as having a high level of football intelligence?

Or more simply, if we're talking about math, there is a difference between understanding trig functions and being able to use them to find the area of a pentagon.

    Am I intelligent?

Why do folks doubt my MENSA membership?

    1. Mensa membership is supposed to include folks in the 98th percentile. Thus, if you assume someone isn't in Mensa, you are likely correct.

    2. I try to refrain from making a judgment based off of message boards. Now I'll call someone an idiot here and there, but 99% of the time that just means I think really only on this one topic has that poster been idiotic. I think what a lot of members are seeing is someone that can't learn a pretty simple lesson in order to exist here. There is also the problem of memory and a variety of other attributes you've attempted to use ad proof of your brilliance being easily forged via the Internet. There's also the fact that you go to such great lengths to prove your intelligence and that you get so upset when it is challenged.

Why is acceptance of your intelligence on a message board so important to you?

Steve, I worry for your longterm future here. You were doing so well. Notice how many of your threads have to do with YOU. That's a problem.

    Dude is a troll.

My guess is he's an above average intelligence college kid who just gets a thrill out of trolling this place for some reason.

Why? Just leave it alone and move on, does that not make more sense to you?

Bill knows my persona. He knows I have an ungodly vocabulary. Seriously. How many people use the words I do? Even after telling him, he said he doubts it. I want to know why.

FTR, I'm not saying using fancy words is a requirement for smarts/MENSA. However, fancy words coupled with a profession of MENSA membership shouldn't be too surprising. Skill with language is one of many indicators.

And a thesaurus, which you've admitted to using before, isn't exactly tough to find.

Also, this is a sports message board. Most of us adjust diction accordingly. You do not and your vocabulary is making a very different impression than what you think it should.
