A coach should be able to assemble his own staff. But I like the him being gone part.

My thoughts as well. I don't want anyone telling the coach what he has to do. Fire him or let him do his job his way. Preferably fire him.

He was allowed to hire DeBord. It blew up in his face.

It's time to clean house, not lay new rules on what he has to do.

The issue of "giving up control" is why Jones is here in the first place.

if he continues to recruit this well, I doubt they fire him outright.

Tennessee has recruited well since Neyland rode trains around the country getting who he wanted. Successful recruiting isn't going to keep his job here.

It takes a special kind of ineptitude to not recruit well here.

100% agree with you, but does the administration believe that? they did give him an extension remember.

It depends on if the boosters get their shit together.

Hart's fate is tied to Butch.

I am still stunned by that. Dude already had a long term contract when he took the job (which was understandable at the time). But to extend it and make the buyout that much harder to swallow was asinine and negligent on the part of the AD.

Only the dumbasses in the fanbase. Tennessee just spent 40 million on a practice facility and are building new athletic dorms right now.

Tyndall failing made Hart's time here even more strained. Had Tyndall worked out (i.e. not being investigated/booted and having impressive SEC and tourney play) Hart would have some leverage.

If Jones goes 8-4 even I can see Hart getting canned more specifically so a new AD can put Jones on a definitive "do or die" timeline in 2016 without having it blowback on him.

This is what I hope for but I don't see it happening as our fans are too loyal to brickwall attendance if we're looking to go 8-4. It has to get really bad for our fans to not go to games.

UT boosters will have to get this one done as the UT administration doesn't give 2 shits about football and the enormous revenue it can bring in.
