Government spends money on infrastructure: "N-no, you can't invest like that!"

 

One of the reasons Mesopotamia is studied is that it provides one of the earliest records of contracts, accounting, and abstract markets... We are all lucky to be born when we were and living in the USA, but you more than most. Here, you can be successful. But where else, if you were still like this?

True infrastructure is a general welfare and is something government should be doing.

the issue is the cronyism, special projects, and waste that gets wrapped up in an infrastructure bills instead of doing it right.

 

it's only a straw man if you don't oppose the infrastructure bill, which I magically guessed you would.

 

I don’t oppose infrastructure spending. Just because the current bill is a bastardized version of that doesn’t mean that I’m against infrastructure.

I support the 518 billion in the bill that actually goes to infrastructure.

Hard to make any decisions based on it, then. Infrastructure is an investment. If the technology is improved, that's a return. We'd have to know the return to determine whether it was a waste or not.
