You do realize we are talking about the lobbyist controlled US legislature?

I thought electing Trump meant an end to lobbying.

I've never said that or really supported Trump.

Trump certainly has said that, repeatedly.

Ultimately its up to the lobbyist puppets to change the laws. Trump can pressure them, but ultimately they have to cut off their own gravy train. I hope that happens, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Can someone explain to me the difference between easing sanctions on Russia in exchange for reductions in nuclear stockpiles and easing sanctions on Iran in exchange for slowing nuclear advancement?

This isn't a knock on Trump, because his beef seemed to always be money paid to Iran. This is a beef with Republicans who had their panties in a wad over easing sanctions on Iran and will likely not see issues here.

For the record, I think that lifting sanctions in exchange for slowing nuclear proliferation is usually a viable strategy

I think it is the whole stop as many countries as possible from developing nuclear tech, than it is money for reduction.

Since Russia has nuclear tech, it isn't as big a deal as Iran, who doesn't. My take.

While I understand what you are saying, that line of thinking is just flat dumb. In the grand scheme of things, Russia is a much bigger threat to world order than Iran will ever be. Appeasing them is much more dangerous

I agree. Russia has the ability to dominate their region, Iran really doesn't.

You are talking about folks that want to return to the 1950s. Stopping the Communists from getting "the bomb" was a big deal. Thus.
