True Detective

I've tried watching this several times this week. Fallen asleep every time. The first episode is incredibly boring

 

Push through it, man.

 

Just finished episode 1. Had 15 mins left. Only dozed off once. I'll give ep 2 a chance.

 

True Detective season 2 premiers June 21

Quite an ensemble --- Vince Vaughn (putting aside his comedy comfort zone), Colin Farrell, Rachel Adams, Taylor Kitsch, Kelly Reilly (really enjoyed her performance in Black Box)

Not sure anything could top season 1.

 

Hard act to follow --- acting, writing, but I like that they chose to introduce new characters, locale, and storyline.

 

I really don't get this.

Season 1 was good but it did have several dead ass episodes.

 

And which episodes would those be?

 

I'll have to go back and see.

 

Season 2 starting off pretty strong.

So are we to presume Colin Farrell is dead? If so, wtf.

 

I don't think he's dead.

 

The creative team obviously loves people in weird masks perpetrating violence.

 

Yeah, leaving almost a full season greatly dependent on the star power of a B lister like Taylor Kitsch would be awfully risky.

 

....this show was the last damn place I ever thought I would see Rick Springfield.

 

It's also a lot of wasted screen time and character development if he's really gone.

 

Bullet proof vest?

 

Rubber bullets maybe?

 

I really hope so, if not it was some game of thrones level death.

But I think I've seen clips of him and piccolo (sp) in bullet proof vests doing cop stuff.

 

Zero percent chance he's dead.
