    They took dead aim at Washington himself by the end. It was quite partisan. It would be no different if you placed them here now.

    I think there are a lot of things people would assume about the Founding Fathers which aren't really accurate or reflected in today's political landscape. Hell, even having a popular vote wasn't particularly desired by these guys and an Electoral College was adopted in light of the other option of having the president chosen by Congress. Hell, until about 100 years ago, citizens didn't even elect their own senators. The Founding Fathers were really big on qualified, educated, "enlightened" people making determinations for the government and not the masses, which, obviously, has changed.

    They wouldn’t want popular vote but they didn’t like winner take all on either for the states on delegates.

    But once one state did it, that forced all the other states to do it.


    The founding fathers got human nature and made a government that fits it’s pretty well.

    We’re all flawed imperfect assholes, so break up the power.
