    I've posted in this forum like 1300 times, and I feel like I'm not really a part unless I go over there and get myself banned. I probably didn't post over there 50 times. Can I self-impose a ban and have it be authentic?

    Not sure. It may be that you have to accumulate a certain number of posts. Just post here what avatar and such you want and one us will be glad to do it for you. Maybe one of our more skilled mods/admins can look into the issue of new folks not being able to do it.
