"Chewin' tobacco, chewin' tobacco, chewin' tobacco, spit." His lone redeeming quality is his wife, who I enjoy 1,000 times more than him.
In her fold? Hahahahaha. I'm not sure if that's vague, but it does remind of a fantastic crank yankers skit/call by Adam Carolla.
This is a good idea. Someone should write some computer code where you input a few random nouns and it spits out a country song.
He wrote this while he was with the Drive By Truckers but he's on his own now. He's not necessarily country, but he's better than most
Most music is interpreted through perspective. It's as a simple as that. If you can relate to the song, chances are you'll enjoy it, some people are just a sucker for a melody. If you're searching for good music on the radio, you're doing it wrong, for the most part at least. And that goes for any and all genres of music, sure, there will be the occasional pop song that has substance to go along with an undeniable hook and catchy beat but really you can count them on one hand on a yearly basis. As far as modern day country is concerned, it's no different than modern day rap or rock. It is watered down, cookie-cutter nonsense that's driven by and for money. Great artists are out there but they rarely follow the model at hand, which is part of the reason they're great in the first place. Songs like "Heaven" by Bruno Mars and "Blurred Lines" are damn near perfect pop songs. When 50 year old white woman and teenage black boys are openly singing your song, you've struck a universal chord, doesnt make the song great, just means the approach is. And it's all about the approach.
