I would imagine the Shocker would actually bring pleasure. This is more like a hamfisted attempt at George Costanza's love making.
That shocker hand sign was actually invented years before Butch. There was an article in the Sentinel and everything. I forget exactly when, but I know that SI College Campus Edition did a feature on UT being the best gameday campus. They took a photo of some UT players, pretty sure Derrick Tinsley was one of them, and were going to use it for the cover. Then they noticed the players and cheerleaders were making a shocker sign. So they instead used some photo of a shirtless guy with a power T painted on his chest.
No, there was a serious thing about that being the Vol symbol at that time. Some Knoxville guy came up with it and tried to get it going. It didn't catch on.
I remember it because I cut out the little drawing of the hand doing the Vol/shocker and put it on our fridge. Thought it was funny.
I'm with both of these posts. I don't mind the idea of the trashcan. It's a reference to the defense doing the "dirty work," I'm sure. But we just overdo it, which kills it for me.
