It has all the classic signs. Coach on the ropes, fanbase ready to bail, but still some major apologists, opponent who may take the vols lightly, but coaching poor enough to not actually win. Expect the dooley supporters to embrace the moral victory like a crack addict does his pipe only for their dreams to be crushed later in the season.
At this point, I'm only concerned with the opinion of Hart and the major boosters. I hope they make the right decision.
Yeah. I agree. My worst fear is that we play these guys and SC relatively close, still lose, and that the masses think that it is a sign that Dooley deserves year 4. I want to win or lose by 30. It's as simple as that.
The expectations for Dooley are tangible this year. This team was pretty much predicted to go 8-4. Many fans and perhaps Hart are holding him to a 9 win standard. A moral victory may mean something for a few posters on the internet but it's probably meaningless in regards to his actual employment.
