GnR was one of those bands that came and in a flash were gone. Axel Rose was/is a complete psychopath and ruined what could have been one of the best acts of all time. Their two albums (particularly Appetite) are unbelievably good. And you must get musical whiplash going from GnR to Joel and back to GnR!
I sing Personal Jesus on stage. Recorded it as well on Hundred Acres "Feels Good" album. I do it in the style of J. Cash.
I think it is for me. Like already mentioned, it is hard to pick just one. It changes for me depending on how the mood strikes.
Yes please. But pre Up, that's for sure. Pre-Green was best --the albums were deeper, the sound was more original. More original epic melodies. Guitars were chimier.First five albums are the foundations of Alt. Rock as we know it. I could go on. A lot of big bands have done songs specifically devoted to REM and their sound (U2, Coldplay, Pearl Jam, Counting Crows, etc.)Post-Green has some gems though. Automatic for the People and New Adventures in Hi-Fi are both amazing albums. Lifes Rich Pageant (their fourth I think) is my favorite.
