we've definitely had this discussion before and we've definitely seen it differently. God gave us free will and intellect. from that point on, it was completely up to us to determine how we use those gifts. the kid was given a gift to play golf. his hard work and determination in time of duress are commendable.
At the risk of talking about golf in this thread: Hope to play Saturday. Will be playing with a guy who played for Auburn (prolly in the 60s) and another guy from work. Both are better than me but I'll be dressed worse.
clubs are finally here... Pics will follow sometime. I also finally got some leave so I'm visiting my parents in VA. Was supposed to go to Richmond, VA to play golf with friends, but Irene gave me a big fat F.U. on that idea. My parents live in the sticks and are forced to settle for satellite internet and it flat out sucks in inclement weather. Once I get a better connection I'll put up the pics.
I couldn't help myself. I bought the AP2s. My credit card shrieked a little as it went through the card machine, but when I hit them on the range it was all worth it.
I stunk it up today and as predicted brought my playing partner down to my level - well close to my level.
By the way, was almost painful to watch John Daly today in Knoxville. He hit some terrible shots and just flat out looks like a shell of the player he used to be. I usually have zero tolerance for people who piss away talent, but there is still something about the guy that draws you to him.
at least he made the cut, so he's getting a check to go along with his appearance fee. he probably needs it. also, is Boo Weekly playing on the Nationwide Tour now? he's fallen off the map, but i didn't think he'd fallen THAT far.
He's probably playing both. He withdrew from the AT&T after the first round back in June with a rib injury and then withdrew from the John Deere Classic a couple of weeks later without even playing. I know he missed the cut in the Wyndham Championships last week so he's probably just trying to get back into form.
I think my wife is hell bent on shaming me into quitting golf. She won our club championship today for the 6th (I think) time. The girl who beat her last year didn't play, but since wife beat her soundly on Tuesday in a 14 hole friendly, I don't really think that had much to do with the outcome of the tournament.
I looked at and hit the AP2s, but I just liked the Pings better and I wasn't even including price as a comparison. These babies are incredibly forgiving and feel great. The CG15s are more rounded than previous Cleveland wedges. The hybrid is hit or miss, but pretty accurate. I absolutely mash the 910 D3 driver. I love that thing. We'll see what happens when the honeymoon is over. The new bag is also nice, pockets everywhere. Hope you enjoy your new sticks though lyls. PS, as you can see in the first pic, I also bought me a sweet new ride to get to and from the course. That thing is going to save me a fortune on gas.
i think he's referring to the towel like the one I have in the picture. It's essentially two towels in one. It's folded in half and the underside works totally opposite of the outside. You can wet the inside towel and the outside stays dry, or when it's raining, the outside gets wet and the inside stays dry. It may have changed names, but the brand is called "Frogger" now.
