Two thoughts:

1. This is a lateral, possibly downward, move. I shudder to think about what this means regarding their confidence in our staff.

2. Any support I had left for Dooley is probably gone.

No, he's still going to get another year. However, this will be his last. He's going to be teaching the defense a new system, whoever comes in. I'd say it'll be someone from FCS or a small mid major school.

 

Dooley is getting fired next season regardless if this duo was here or not.

 

Thompson will be promoted imo.

 

That thought went through my mind as well. If that happens, we will have a spot for 3 coaches.

 

My first response was a chuckle. Proof we've fallen off the face of the earth and I'm not a damned true fan.

 

Have to promote Thompson. You aren't going to find anyone better.

 

I don't think that will happen even if it is the smartest move.
