this is what I don't get. [itch bay]ing about the debt handed to them then voting for a guy who is going to make that debt look like peanuts. but hey free shit!

"free" meaning we pay for it in taxes for other people. But, hey, sure it's free!

as long as it's wall street and faceless rich people it's fine. of course, let's ignore the fact that Bernie's tax projections are widely optimistic. but hey, it's not as though we've seen free shit offered with no downside before with a guy the millennials supported. obamacare did save us billions just like was promised.

I remember saying this back about thirty years ago, now I'm drawing SS retirement that I have calculated will equal my payments in 2039. Only problem is I have to make it to 92, and my health pretty much will not allow that.

and god forbid if you calculate what it'd be worth if you actually invested the money.

    Revolution.

We're a society of consumers that buys shit that we don't need with money that we don't have. It's going to get ugly when we're forced to stop that

    This generation fought two wars.

The Cold War's over. The military isn't nearly so big, and all of those veterans didn't go to a war zone.

a hell of a lot more of baby boomers were in an actual war than millennials.

You said someone did two tours in Vietnam as if that were something a millennial would know nothing about. My brother did two in Afghanistan, and I know many more who served in Iraq as well. The Millennial narrative is absolutely stupid.

That's the difference between an all volunteer military and a drafted one.

2.7 million Americans were deployed in Vietnam.

2.5 million Americans were deployed in Iraq/Afghanistan.

The big difference is one was a conscript army and the other a completely volunteer force.

That would be a profitable bet for me.

Less than 10% of the population in the boomer generation went to war. That is hardly a large majority. Most had no clue about war (as I don't, nor do I want to know).

Competition is the element of capitalism that frightens us? What a laugh. Maybe it's because we are connected to other youths worldwide, who even though they live in the same depressed economies, are living with less crippling debt and just as high quality of life despite being in these terrible, despotic socialist countries.
