No they weren't. The media fawned over Obama and the idea of a black president. She lost a ton of support in that primary.
I do find it ironic that the party whining about the electoral college is the same one that uses hundreds of "superdelegates" to make sure their voters don't nominate the "wrong" person.
Republicans are just a single legislative chamber away from being able to amend the U.S. Constitution without any input from Democrats.

It's really crazy considering the power that they had in the 60's and 70's. Since the 80's they've been on a decline, and never got close to their glory days. 28 states are pushing for a balanced federal budget. They're not too far from it.
