Apparently, the Republican House candidate in Montana's special election tomorrow physically attacked, as in slamming him to the ground and then punching him while he was on top of him, a reporter from The Guardian today. Ben Jacobs was asking Gianforte to comment on the AHCA because Gianforte's previous position was that he wanted to see the CBO score before taking a position. Unfortunately for Gianforte, that score was released today, and, in my opinion, blew up his strategy of not committing on the legislation prior to the election. Jacobs was recording the questioning (that Gianforte was totally trying to avoid....remember there's an actual recording of the deal) and I couldn't hear anything at all that would trigger an assault. Of course, Gianforte asked for law enforcement immediately after the incident and gave a (false) statement to them (adding a possible charge of filing a false report to his potential assault charge). I say he gave a false report because another news crew witnessed the entire event. That crew's accounting of the incident supported Jacobs' version of events and was in direct conflict with Gianforte's. Gianforte left the crime scene in a rush failing to participate in his scheduled interview with the crew that witnessed the events. Did I mention that the news crew that witnessed this assault was a Fox News crew there to gather content for Bret Baier? I've never seen as many Republican politicians not wanting to talk to Fox News as I've seen in the last 2 weeks. https://www.google.com/amp/www.foxn...p-house-candidate-body-slam-reporter.amp.html On the flip side, this event probably solidified Gianforte's win in the election. After all, he's demonstrated that he's both a liar and a good soldier in the war against the press.
Ya, unfortunately assaulting journalists and lying to get away with it are positives in some people's minds.
Ted Cruz, sooner or later, would be completely screwed if this were to happen. He might have to duel daily.
I want tropical island, no rules, only coming in with your bare hands battle royales for line item vetos.
He was wrong to violently attack anyone, and should be fully punished if found guilty. I assume he has already disqualified himself from contention, which is also good and proper.
To my knowledge he is in and still leading. His opponent is a local folk singer. Maybe he can improv up a sweet song about this.
How bad does the healthcare bill have to be that a question about the CBO score leads to this much anger?
I never doubted it. The effects of the assault were minimized by the fact that 70% of the ballots were mail-in early voting.
Never doubt it. It is more important to piss off libtards than to live, in rural America. It's completely warped. They'd rather rule in hell than serve in some socialist paradise.
Nope. Paul Ryan said he would welcome him. Welcome. Him. Paul Ryan also sees nothing wrong with accepting hacked information from foreign powers. It's not illegal! But he will lie about knowing anything about it right up until he is told they have him on tape. Then it will suddenly have been a joke.
