Your Favorite Television Shows

I started Turn again, not sure why I stopped keeping up with it so I backtracked to the beginning

 

Sometimes they have way too many storylines going at once

 

The last 4 seasons of GoT were that way. Last season finally started trimming the fat.

 

Would have had to significantly alter the plot from the book to simplify it any more than they did.

 

If you have never watched a single episode, are the books worth reading?

 

By all accounts they're great, but Martin's writing style annoys me. I find ot tedious

 

And I refuse to start a large arc series when the author might die before he finishes it.

How have you not watched though?

 

Just watch the show. After the first season of the show, if you want to read, start with Book 2.

You'll miss some minor characters, but since there are 1,400 or so, you won't be too bothered by it by book 4.

 

Yeah. I really enjoyed them, but it took me awhile to get rolling. Read the first book and maybe 50 pages of the second then put it down for over a year. Eventually picked it back up and finished the rest rather quickly.

 

Just never have.

As you can tell from above, I don't watch much non sports tv.

 

I've never watched Game of Throws or that zombie show either.

 

SO there are 5 books, how many more are there supposed to be?

Yes, but I would watch first.

 

Two. But he's taking forever. Book three was published in 2000, and we are still waiting on book six in 2017.

He's also almost 70 and extremely overweight, so there's no guarantee whatsoever that he'll finish the series.

 

I would suggest just trying the series first then.

 

We really liked This Is Us.

 

Yeah it was great.

 

This Is Us had a lot of great moments, and I really liked it.

But some of the characters aren't as strong as the others (acting wise) so I felt like their stories got left behind.

Still very much looking forward to season 2.
