Can't recall which coaching search it was, but he was alleged to be interested until Hambone nixed it, saying something like he was a "lower level coach" and wouldn't be considered. Patterson then allegedly told several people that he was going to whip Hammy'a ass the next time he was in the same room with him. Basilio has spoken about this, IIRC.
I would take Mullen over Cut and Les. I like Whittingham too but still role with Mullen. Patterson would be unlikely but worth approaching. No chance at the other guys.
Awesome. Just to throw more dirt on Hamilton, the guy he hired is at FAU and Patterson has multiple BCS bowl wins.
I think Cut and Miles would both do well, but the question is for how long? I wouldn't be overly mad with either one but they'd be down the list for me. I'd rather have someone we know could stay for a while.
I'm not sure how much weight to put on "he finished behind Butch two years in a row" and how much to put on "it was Rutgers"
My main question/concern with Jim Bob is can he recruit? He may be able to scheme and game plan well, but can he go into homes and convince kids to come and play for him?
Patterson ok. Swinney, Peterson - zero chance. Fisher, The Hat, Cut, Wittingham - do not want, would not take.
Amazes me people wouldn't take Mullen but would take guys who were fired and or left programs in absolute shambles.
