Some people like modern takes on old stories. I prefer accuracy, warts and all. I am not offended by others not liking ugly warts.
It's just horseshit if you try to present a historical film as accurate and try to bring it up-to-date.
HBO has Shoot 'Em Up. If anyone likes absolutely mindless action movies with terrible one liners and improbable gun fights (that doesn't involve Arnold) this is a must watch.
Revisiting this thread, I saw The Disaster Artist tonight and, if you are familiar with The Room, you will enjoy the shit out of this movie. Very funny.
Saw Blade Runner 2049 for the first time last night. I thought it was damn near perfect. Mad at myself for not seeing it in the theater.
It was hated because they advertised is wrong, emphasizing things that were either cut or minimized from the actual movie. And it annoyed people. I think Leto had almost as much time in the previews as he did in the actual film.
