For those who were around to remember DePaul in the early 80s, they underachieved more than any team in NCAA tourney history.
My concern in this tourney is that the few teams worth a damn, who could give Kentucky a game, will get upset and the Cats will get little resistance all tournament long.
It's got me rooting for teams I wouldn't otherwise ever dream of rooting for, like Duke and Notre Dame. They've completely taken the fun out of the tournament, especially the underdog element. If there's going to be a team that supplants the 76 Indiana Hoosiers as the last unbeaten team, that's OK. It's bound to happen. But please don't make it the God Damn Kentucky Wildcats.
Really? Which team or teams that have been eliminated so far had a snowballs chance in hell of beating UK?
The worst part is that I don't think that this Kentucky team is remarkably better than a lot of very good teams in the past. 1991 UNLV would run them and a I can think of a number of others whom I would, unhesitatingly, take over this Cat squad. This really seems like a down year for college basketball and UK ran through a really, really shitty SEC.
