This isn't a PR battle. This is a young man now with numerous domestic incidents and a university code of conduct to adhere to.
The best thing to do is keep him on campus and seeing a psychiatrist while working towards playing again. Saban's done it since MSU. The "correct" thing to do is kick him off.
I hope he really didn’t say anything regards to shooting up the school. Apparently there’s an active shooter on the UTC campus right now.
I'd prefer UT go the best route. Biggest point for me is Thompson shouldn't be seeing the field for a long time.
If it went from restraining order to yelling in public then it appears that the pattern is one of improvement.
That's assuming that all he is doing is screaming in public, which hopefully is all it is but still troubling.
A shouting match with his gf is "troubling"? How did you ever make it through the latter Fulmer years ?

If nothing comes out of it legally to keep him from playing football, and it doesnt appear that it will, go ahead and suspend him until UF, have other internal punishment (running, whatever) and put him on a 0 tolerance policy from here on out. That's how I'd handle it personally. Given what we know. I just have a bad feeling though the pressure from the outside will have its way and he'll probably be gone.
