The 529 portion of the President's proposal is now dead.

You know it's a ridiculous notion when even Nancy Pelosi is lobbying the President against it.

 

Really dumb. Reinforces that and the Ira proposal reinforces the theory that the democrats want the savers to pay for the non savers. Wealth tax is next

 

Except that the Democrats were not really supportive of this 529 idea, either, and even the Obama administration didn't really care enough about it to put up much of a fight.

 

The democrats were smart enough to not support it, and Obama doesn't really have enough position to put up too much of a fight on it.


Now let's hope that the wealth tax is shot down. The government shouldn't be allowed to double or triple dip their beaks into asserts.

 

Then why put it in? seems kind of counterproductive. they've been talking about the IRA cap for a while too which is absurd.

 

If I'm the rank and file dem some believe me to be, it seems to indicate this was not a popular idea. In fact, I don't know anyone who was aware of it's details who liked it. You can't pay for school by taxing school savings. Makes no sense.
