POLITICS Back to School

So, the national motto is coming to a Tennessee school near you. I'm sure some of the posters here will be thrilled with the news that God is going to be back in schools.

Good thing, too. I know, in my school, we've had serious issues with the atheists and non-believers creating mayhem. Should improve test scores and discipline problems, as well.

Is there an organization as useless as the Tennessee State........never mind. I've asked that question too many times on this board.

 

So it's "mandatory" yet there won't be any penalty for failing to comply. It may be interesting to see which schools, if any, don't.

It kinda does. It doesn’t say “In the Christian God we trust.”

And everyone knows the American god is the dollar bill anyway.

“In the dollar we trust.” Coming to a school near someone.

 

Perhaps that is the problem with the TN Legislature.

In God We Trust ... to deliver our classroom supplies

In God We Trust ... to ensure money gets to the needs of the Teachers

etc...

 

Nah. God is fine. Im good with coaches praying with my kids before they play. People dont like it, dont play.

 

Private endeavor vs public school. Cannot not go to school.

 

Or, you should send your kid to a parochial school.

 

Or, I can have my own opinion as ive seen God taken out of everything the last 40 years and America has become a festival of idiots, due on part.

You do realize under god was not present in the original pledge right? There's a reason for separation of church and state.

 

When was the "under God" portion put into the Pledge of Allegiance?

As for moving because a government I'd quasi-supporting a religion is ludicrous.

And your kids are welcome to discuss God anytime they like. They are not limited by the Constitution because they are not part of the government.

 

Yeah, I'm sure you'd uproot your entire life because someone can't use the most simplistic reasoning as to not force religion and superstition upon large swaths of people in a government-funded environment. Brilliant.

Festival of idiots is one of my favorite things to use. Started it when we went in shotgun from the one and ended up 4th and 5.

 

If my kids came home and said they had to pray to Allah, we are moving next week to somewhere that doesn't require it. Im sure im not the only one here either. Dont like it, go somewhere else. I would without a second thought.
