Chavis is overrated to be sure, but the defense wasn't Fulmer's or the program's demise.

 

Did I say the defense? I said Chavis was.

 

Second half of the 2001 sec championship game was the beginning of the end. He didn't adjust to the new qb and we were never the same.

It all rests with fulmer as the head man, but the whole staff became insulated from reality and allowed the program to rot.

 

Chavis was extremely hard to work with here. He also refused to try at recruiting towards the end, too.

 

Seems an odd move. Were Chavis and Miles at odds?

Please fill in the blank with the appropriate seasons. I am unable to. I do not recall the defense deserving any blame for the Truckstop Showers that were 2005 and 2008. Nor do I recall UT fielding anything other than a solid defense under Chavis.

 

Was he in charge of something other than the defense?
