First, feel for you I too have LSU family (New Orleans and Shreveport). Believe me when I say I empathize.
It was my only complaint about his on the field stuff. Get a 10 point lead and go into ultra conservative mode. His behind the scenes shenanigans is the main reason I'm glad he's gone. He wouldn't make an effort to recruit, then he would tell other assistants which guys to get for him. If they flopped, he blamed the coaches that recruited them.
2001 team had 10 players drafted. Three 1st rounders, two 3rd rounders, one 4th, one 5th, one 6th and two 7th rounders
Solidarity, brother. The perks are when we go visit and my bro in laws family cooks. And I am miserable for days afterward. His FIL can flat out cook some jambalaya.

Amen. And crawfish boils I can eat my body weight (sans the head sucking --- nasty!) or at least 'til I pass out
Well, their last two drives in regulation seem to support that. Next to last drive: 10 plays, 80 yards, 4:35 TOP Last drive in regulation: 9 plays, 70 yards, 1:35 TOP They converted four 3rd downs on those final 2 drives, too, including one for a TD. And at that point, they had 138 yards of total offense, meaning, more than 50% of their total yardage came in those final 2 drives. They don't list the OT plays, for some reason, but they hit a 42-yard FG to win it, FWIW. At closer glance, it looks like Card's memory is entirely accurate, and we had a late-game collapse on D. That's not the whole blame, but it certainly seems to have happened, just as Card explained. Link: http://espn.go.com/ncf/gamecast?gameId=282450026&version=mobile#boxscore&src=desktop
We had them hopelessly outmatched and allowed them to execute their offense with virtually no impediment. The fact that we were able to shut them down so completely just makes the end of the game even worse. They had nothing on offense and we gave them ten yards every play.
