I seriously need to invest in gambling operations and casinos. It is plain as day that most people have no concept of odds.

This virus can be combatted via vaccination. As such, any mutation of this virus can be combated via vaccination, and faster, as a booster.

[uck fay] it, just talk out of your ass for 18 months and then take the monoclonal antibodies because you are a rich dude and then credit the ivermectin and vitamins. At least you won't be totally full of shit.

You called Card selfish for not vaccinating his kids. You made a claim along the lines of “if you can stop a bad thing from happening, you should.” But you failed to acknowledge that stopping the bad thing from happening requires one to put oneself at risk.

You said I follow the advice of Rogan over Gupta. You made that up.

I’m making the assumption that if I understood the point, so did the neurosurgeon.

Did you watch the CNN reporters commenting on Rogan having the virus? You don’t have to read minds to see the emotions people are expressing.

Reporting that Joe Rogan is taking horse dewormer to combat his COVID infection is not only inaccurate, but a straight up lie.

I thought we were supposed to listen to our doctors? Why wouldn’t Joe Rogan take ivermectin if that’s what his doctor is advising?

The risk of hospitalization or death due to infection for a healthy child is really, really low.

    Oh look, numbers.

How many healthy kids have died from COVID?

How low? And how low is the risk of hospitalization or death due to the vaccine?

You are the one talking about risk. Surely you know.

With Card, I specifically noted the difference between "they'll be fine" and "this vaccine will harm them." Only one of those is selfish.

Putting oneself at a small amount of risk for a greater good is the barest of sacrifices.

Vaccination is about preventing spread not outcomes.

How many healthy kids spread it to someone who died? How many healthy adults spread it to someone who died?

You do realize that in order to get it... a human had to pass it to you, correct?

I just watched the movie "Contagion". Very similar to what we are going through except at the end, everyone happily took the vaccine.

Who would have guessed how real life would [uck fay] it up. Truth is truly stranger than fiction.

I suppose a death rate of 20% rather than 2 % is a factor. The Jude Law types are very very real, though.

Covid doesn't get to 2% IFR till you're 65-74 years old.

I'm betting that most in that age group got the vaccine.

Ages 0-34 have an IFR of 0.004. So I'd say it's not quite the same thing

    I wouldn't take that bet.

Well the deathrate in Contagion after vaccines were available was effectively zero, so we are worse off there... because so many aren't taking them and then others point to the declining death rate because some people have taken them as evidence that the disease is less severe, further encouraging many to not take it...

I am thankful most of my generation's parents/grandparents, on a global scale, supported the purpose of vaccinations versus the risk.

I am perplexed by the lack understanding of the purpose of a vaccination.

"Spread? We do not care about no stinking spread. We are healthy, it only kills those that aren't "healthy" and old people."

    Until it doesn't.

Even something focused only on the unhealthy and the old should be fought.

It's amazing, if someone said round up all the old and unhealthy and shoot 2% of them, we'd be like "whoa whoa whoa."

But if someone says let 2% of the old and unhealthy die due to a virus, we want to first make sure we're not inconvenienced before we decide to stop it.
