It'll let you cut some wider boards

Just go ahead and spend it. If you don't, you'll be buying one with a slide a year from now.

    You can cut wider boards

Yep. Bought one without the slider, spent a year flipping boards and trying to match the cut, then bought a dewalt with the slider. Might as well buy it now.

Really pays off when you're cutting 45s

The version on Amazon you linked doesn't have a blade half wit. The one with a blade, which I assume you want, is $299

Click on "Style." So what the hell is the difference between that one and the $299 one that says "with saw blade?"

    Extra blade.

Lowes now offering 10% to all vets. Just sign up, use my lowes card when making purchases, and you get the 10% off.

Just need name, branch and discharge date. It's an instant check.

Haven't they been doing that a long time? I hired a vet a year or so ago to do some work for me and he offered to buy all the stuff for that very reason.

Nope. Disabled vets, yes. But otherwise, only supposed to get discount on certain holidays.

If you had an old reserves ID card, you could ask for discount and get it. But you weren't supposed to.

    Home Depot schill here :

Policy is service connected, career retired, or active duty.

That said you generally won't have a problem unless you're buying a job lot quantities of stuff, appliances, or shingles.

    Each store varies, of course.

I need a new cordless drill. Something with a little umph.

    What say you?

FIL gave me his old Bosch 16v several years ago, and it was already the oldest drill in the world. Still runs like it's brand new.

I dunno. Maybe this guy qualifies as disabled, but he seems pretty able as far as I can tell. I went to Lowe's with him and saw him get the discount.
