True or not, that makes sense.

I was just kidding, 6/8 time means there are 6 beats per measure and is counted 1-2-3-1-2-3. 3/4 time is counted 1-2-3. So 6/8 time sounds twice as fast as 3/4.

    Jay:
The whole note is a full circle I think to denote the one note fills the measure/bar. The black notes with flags have lesser value the more flags there are because you play twice as many beats for each flag added per measure.

Thanks for the explanation even though I understood it about as well as I if I were reading it in Mandarin Chinese. I have little to no musical aptitude/knowledge.

Nor tied notes, rests, key signature, time signature, fromadas, accidentals, key changes, beats per minute, ad nauseum.

I played a Bartok composition for piano with double dotted notes. Completely unnecessary IMO.

I've never seen double dotted notes probably because it is absolutely unnecessary.

The knowledge you all possess makes me feel so insufficient

It's really not that difficult to learn Kat. once you get the gist of it figured out, it comes fairly easy.
