Big, big mistake, imo. Society is changing; I think the Republican party needs a move to a moderate social platform while keeping primary focus on true fiscal conservatism.
We ran a more moderate guy last time and he had his ass handed to him. I don't think playing democrat lite is going to accomplish anything.
Interesting. Rove says Ohio is in play. He says enough of gop vote is still out. Seems pretty intense about it.
Preposterous how much of a role the social issues played in this election considering the state of the economy.
They do however Bible thumping preachers who feel sex is a sin except to procreate have too much power.
I agree the GOP needs to make some changes, but you really think Obama would have had a shot if he got ALL of the blame for the economy?
Virginia just flipped Obama, so... he can be up in arms about Ohio all he wants, this election was over almost two hours ago when Romney failed to get far enough ahead with Florida.
Oh, and it was on the heels of an unpopular President. McCain's moderate stances didn't doom him, his incompetence did, imo.
I follow a lot of sports people on twitter, and the whole statsy community has banded together behind Silver for the last few weeks. Nice to get some vindication, although I'm pretty far from an Obama supporter.
