As someone who admittedly will make decisions based on social issues, I do agree with you. I think this shows how society is shifting - more people are giving the social stuff more weight. The Republican party needs to adapt.
I don't buy that. Although there are a lot of people who disapprove of the way Obama has handled the economy, there are certainly people who also believe we're on the right track.
It cant get worse, 12 years of disaster and we are still here chugging along. We will survive this fool for 4 more years.
VolDad, I think you and I are very similar in perspective. I can tell you that a truly fiscal conservative platform without the archaic social crap would be appealing to me. The Republicans need to break ties and stop the pandering to the extremist right; I honestly feel they would gain more support overall if they make that change.
Obviously they would long term. The problem I see is you would probably be asking a whole bunch of politicians to sacrifice political careers in short term.
You can hate the man for whatever reason, but it is trivial to think the man is not a good businessman. He knows money, you cant take that away from him.
I don't know about that. He'll probably try to build a legacy. I still think he gets another court nomination, though. That, to me, is the worst thing he can do.
