This is part of my problem, in that I am one guy who is having to compete with organizations with departments who do this 5 days a week.

You should get a bunch of smaller guys like yourself to unionize, pool your money to buy some half-wit affirmative action Senator from some 4th tier state to give a speech on behalf of your group, and to propose legislation to prevent the "big guys" from taking all of the money. Just say that allowing such "atrocities" to continue is "bad" for the "middle class".

If that doesn't work, and the self-serving legislation doesn't make it into a law, file suit against the big boys, claiming that they've somehow infringed your Constitutional rights (just pick any one, at random).

If the SCOTUS hears the case and denies that your rights have been infringed, and refutes your claim. Loudly pronounce how the their decision is so egregious and obviously in error, and try to start some grass-roots campaign to have it thrown out.

If that grass-roots campaign and all other means to achieve your intended goals don't work, simply ignore the law, or better yet, just steal the monies given to the big guys, instead of yourself - and claim something entirely stupid like, "it's immoral to abide by an adjust law".

Continue to pay off enough elected officials to look the other way as your research profits from your illegal and ill-gotten gains, and finally reach the magical point where you can claim that your research into the mating habits of Turkish-borne salamanders is simply too important to be stopped, and that to punish you by removing the funds is an attack against science, itself.

In fact, get Bill Nye, Richard Dawkins and Stephen Hawking to not only argue on your behalf, but to even go one giant step further and demand additional funding. Again, because "science". Have'em throw in a mention about blacks, or The Gays, the "working man" or "fat cat politicians" just for good measure.

I don't know why this is so hard for you, IP. This is the exact course of action that Democrats have ever used to get anything they want in this country, and surely, you can figure out how to do the same.

    Right?

Even if you like her ideology, I don't see how you could feel comfortable voting for her in a presidential election. She has so little experience.

Both if which give him more experience than Warren. By quite a bit, to be honest.

When you elect someone on ideology and rhetoric, you get Francois Hollande. And when you elect Francois Hollande, you get what you deserve.

Its message — that minimum wage increases will lead to service workers being replaced by apps — is continued on an accompanying website — BadIdeaCA — which claims to be “holding activists accountable for minimum wage consequences.”

What is a livable wage? What is a livable wage in Tennessee? What is a livable wage in California? Does a burger flipper in Tennessee have a grievance if they're paid less than a burger flipper in California? Or do they just say screw it and pay them both the California wage?
