No....I didn't try to make it anything....I like it for what it is....Star Wars. Nothing better to me than sitting and watching a Star Wars movie on a big screen with some popcorn.
Good news, then. Disney is gonna ride us until we're no longer profitable, because we'll see, and damn near buy, anything Star Wars.
Finally saw TFA and loved it. Will definitely see the next one opening night. Few comments. 1. Kylo Ren is a great character. He will end up an ultimate BA in the next movie. He also looks really cool, which is a big part of these movies IMO. 2. Finn was hilarious. 3. The theory of Ray being Han and Leia's, with Ren leaving her behind sounds possible. 4. No light side return for Ren. Win or die IMO 5. Originally thought Snoke was Palpentine. Others make sense and would be cool, but I'll stick with that for now. Hope I'm wrong.
Few thoughts. I've got no problem with Kylo Ren, he's obviously untrained and completely undisciplined. Hence the tantrums and the overall weakness. Rey becoming that powerful, that quick, was a bit of an eye-roller but not a deal breaker for me. Han dying sucked. Chewie's reaction to his death was pretty sad. I like Fin. I thought the movie did a solid job of balancing dark material with laughs. Other than Fisher I thought the acting was really good. Looking forward to the next two installments.
Pretty obvious how they handled Rey and her ability to use the Force that with more training Kylo is going to be a monster.
Awesome, my kids loved it. They were literally sitting at the edge of their seats. My youngest is using the Force to do everything today.
