Amazing if we finish runner ups in both awards. Extremely likely.

Sooooo Stroud looked pretty meh in a blow out loss. Corum didn’t play, and Michigan still ran the ball all over Ohio State.

Hooker will at least get an invite, yeah?

IMO Caleb Williams controls his destiny now. If USC loses to ND, I have no clue who gets it.

Hooker should still get an invite with the way Stroud and Maye played last 2 weeks

May very well be him if USC goes down and TCU wins out

Why? Perfect year to give to most deserving and not just the best player on a playoff team.

People will probably look at the final score of the Vandy game and form the wrong conclusion about Hooker/Milton.

His odds are basically suggesting he’s a lock as well.

The award doesn’t make much sense. Hooker’s per game numbers are similar in every category and better in some. His QBR is better, and his 70% completion percentage is better than Williams’s 65%. And Hooker has played far superior completion.

What’s the argument against Hooker? The 2 losses? Didn’t we finish like, 3 wins above projection?

The blowout loss to South Carolina? That wasn’t really on him, and his stat line was solid.

Only playing 11 games while others have played 12? Why should missing the Vandy game be used against him? Dude probably would have went for like, 400 yards and 5 TDs in a stat padding game. We also have the ability to look at per game numbers for more equal comparisons where needed.

Not sure where else to put this, but Hyatt should runaway with this award...

Kind of a loaded stat, though. tOSU has played what, 2 top 25 teams? So 2 games vs 5 or 6 games. That said, I think Hyatt should win it based on stats alone, but he won't because of the dumbass way the media anoints someone at the start of the season and then everyone else has to "dethrone" him during the season.

... what? It isn't loaded at all. He's done more against stiffer competition. That tOSU hasn't played but 2 teams in the top 25 is entirely the point.

That just means Hyatt has put up more yards, higher average, and more TDs against much tougher competition over the whole season.

He should. But I’ll be stunned if Marvin Harrison Jr doesn’t take it home.

    Those pesky narratives.

Yup. Too much brand, popularity and national media bias to overcome for Hyatt. Plus Ohio State is the playoff team and we are not.

Can someone explain to me why Hooker is off the board for this award?

Stroud has one additional game played over him, and he completely shit the bed in that game.

Williams could lose in the PAC12 championship, leaving him with the same number of losses despite playing far inferior competition.

The media seems like a bunch of moths. All that matters is what happened recently.
