We are talking about a guy whose master plan was to get his son nailed to a cross, here. His owning of orange apparel would be of little comfort to me.
Stoerner fumbled the first time he went out against Tennessee. He had done it before. Is it evidence of god every time someone wins the lottery?
And when he's in town, we can all meet and I'll give a qualified statement on God, football, and Sovereignty. On a message board, I just want to laugh at Clint Stoerner and say that #bUTchgetsit.
I think he sometimes falls into the trap of assuming that anyone "dumb enough" to believe in God is dumb enough to believe dumb things about God.
I understand that this is a fair observation, but would urge caution at making any assumptions as to what IP thinks / believes / intends. IP is a more devout Christian than many I know, myself included. TIFWIW.
I don't doubt the arduousness and sincerity of IP's examination of faith in the least. And with that, I'll stop talking to about him in the 3rd person.
Well said. I envy IP's willing eagerness to demand (believe?) that God make himself known to him, personally, tangibly and irrefutably and to be dissatisfied with anything of lesser certainty, or disdainful of anyone who insists that he should be, by their own standards. Its not that I think God unwilling or unwanting to do so, I just find myself too cowardly to demand it, and admittedly, lack the mountainous faith which such must require.
Just to expound, it does not require a great deal of bravery to be unafraid of that which you don't think is real. A little kid kicking open his closer door and daring the monsters to come at him would need courage. An adult that understands there are no monsters in the closet has no reason to be afraid.
