Blair came in insanely raw but still has tremendous upside. His technique was all-time bad when he arrived from what I've heard. I'm still a believer in Dobbs. I think the plan is obviously that he pan out and run the offense for the next 3 years. I hope it happens because I hate the idea of breaking in a true freshman QB next year.
I don't mind them either, I just wish we knew the OL would magically get better over the offseason. The play makers at the skill positions will be there for whoever the QB is...
Blackman played Hoover High last night and lost 35-20 but Jennings got a ton of praise from Hoover's head coach and whoever runs their Twitter account. Hoover Bucs Football @BucsFootball · 20m 20 minutes ago Number 2 is cam newton to them. He is making all the plays. Relentless. Hoover Bucs Football @BucsFootball · 19m 19 minutes ago Play of the game. Number 2 gets away twice and runs for 10 on fourth and 8. Player! Hoover Bucs Football @BucsFootball · 18m 18 minutes ago The blaze can thank 2. He has converted 7 third downs and two fourth downs. Wow @BucsFootball: Johnny manziel has nothing on Jennings @BlackmanFtball Both like trying to catch a ghost. Hoover Bucs Football @BucsFootball · 1h1 hour ago Jennings for Blackman is one of top 5 players to suit up against the Bucs. mcknight, Tebow, evans, booty. IMO. “He’s an unbelievable player,” Hoover coach Josh Niblett said of Jennings. “We had something like five third-and-12 or plus and he converts them. You aren’t going to stop their offense from not doing anything, and we have a really good defense. “But, he’s just a heck of a player.”
Jennings' regular-season stats: 105 of 171 (61.4%) passing for 1,746 yards, 16 TDs and just 2 INTs...98 carries for 682 yards (7.0 ypc) and 15 TDs. At this same point last season Jennings had completed just 64 of 129 passes (49.6%) for 1,174 yards, 13 TDs & 5 INTs.
If Jennings can consistently hit a seam or post route without laughably overthrowing it and/or consistently hit a deep pass he'd probably be an upgrade over Dobbs.
