What does your standard Thursday night routine have to do with Chinese tariffs?

The tariffs are a situation established by Trump and copied by China. Each side reducing the tariff shouldn't be credited to them "fixing" the problem when they created the high burden for their own taxpayers. This was supposed to be an "easy win" for us.

They don’t like that China blinked, I guess.

Maybe we can tag Dros to help them.

I don’t like tariffs but China is a fight we’re going to have to fight.

Right now we hold the high ground and central plans will always fail long term.

Is there a conspiracy theory out there that the US unleashed Coronavirus in China? Seems like it would be a pretty easy one to create.

I’m assuming they have evidence that he shared information to be going this hard after him - for not stating he had an affiliation with BJUT. If not then this don’t do bad - wrong for him to take funds he wasn’t entitled to. But not espionage bad. However, it makes me think it was ‘espionage bad.’

This has been and will continue to be a big problem with China (and Russia). My company had some Crown Jewels stolen and transmitted by a Chinese-born employee to the Chinese government. Academia is even more susceptible due to higher percentages and turnover.

    Great stuff from the Atlantic.

    https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/04/what-covid-revealed-about-internet/610549/

    From the article:

In the great debate of the past two decades about freedom versus control of the network, China was largely right and the United States was largely wrong. Significant monitoring and speech control are inevitable components of a mature and flourishing internet, and governments must play a large role in these practices to ensure that the internet is compatible with a society’s norms and values.
